I have an idea I call "The Quiet Revolution"
The basic idea is, instead of trying to change the world, or change yourself, you build youself a little universe where you are most comfortable.
This is a further refinement of the idea "Tune in, turn on, and drop out." that Timothy Leary talked about.
Traditionally, men and male mammals, have spent the majority of their adult lives in isolation (in the wilds), and only occasionally socializing with large groups of strangers and associates. Traditionally, it is more natural for a man to spend his time in isolation and solitary pursuit of his interests , than it is to be constantly socializing in groups, or chatting about the weather.
While we cannot return to the primal freedom of the primordial wilderness again, we can modify our immediate environment, and social obligations, to a great degree. We can construct a life that is more suited to our basic nature, whatever we find that to be.
Don't follow the crowd, unless you really want to.
Don't do anything you do not want to do.
Basically, I would talk about my idea for thirty minutes and hand out some literature, and then we could discuss questions for another thirty minutes.

The field has changed quite a bit in the past several years, but the history and basic concepts are still valid.

It was nice to review "The Luck Factor" by Richard Wiseman I'm glad I had the opportunity to attend. The Public School is a great idea and you have a great location. Thanks to Xarene for taking the time to research the subject.
One night seminar of the history of the Conquest of Mexico. Based on the book by William Prescot, and the eyewitness account by Bernal Diaz del Castillo.
An amazing, tragic, heroic, and epic story of the clash of civilizations, the incredible charisma and ruthlesness of Cortez and the amazing true story of the destruction of Tenochtitlan the gleaming white capital city of the Aztec Empire.
Whoops. I tried to make a course for TPS-NYC and somehow cannot delete this entry now.
