Grasshopper for Rhino
proposed by naoko

Grasshopper is a graphical algorithm editor tightly integrated with Rhino’s 3-D modeling tools. Unlike RhinoScript, Grasshopper requires no knowledge of programming or scripting, but still allows designers to build form generators from the simple to the awe-inspiring. For this course, previous experience in Rhino is required.

The class will look at projects created with grasshopper and cover getting grasshopper up and running, understanding its interface, example projects, and discuss strategies for individual projects.

Architects and designers are welcome.

For this class, please bring your own laptop. If you can't bring your own, let us know. We can probably figure something out.
Experience in Rhino is required since we will jump into Grasshopper right away. Bob will go over how to install Grasshopper at the beginning of the class. If you have any other questions, Bob and I will be there at least 20 min before the class so please come early.
Our teacher, Bob Frederick is currently MArch student at UCLA school of architecture. He has experience in Grasshopper for Rhino both academically and professionally and has taught classes and workshops. If you have any other questions, please let us know!

Hello everyone, I hope you enjoyed the first class. I've uploaded a newer PDF with some of the resources i'd mentioned in class today, you can grab it from this url:
http://p-tactics.com/PUBLIC/PublicSchool_Grasshopper_Topics.pdf

Also, apologies for not having the surface definition ready today. I put one together with a little more functionality that covers some of the topics we discussed in class today as well(like attractors). If anyone feels like opening it up and playing around with it you can grab it from this url:
http://p-tactics.com/PUBLIC/SubDivide_SRF.zip

We'll go over it in the next class as well.

Happy Grasshoping?
Cheers!
