Recording in Apple Logic 8
proposed by axel

This class will teach recording in Apple Logic 8 for new users who are unfamiliar with Logic's functions - which means everything that is essential to know about recording and finishing a project will be taught and after this class one will feel comfortable to move onto experimenting with many other features that Logic 8 offers.

Setting up, recording, arranging, editing, mixing and finalizing projects will be covered in this class (for both AUDIO projects as well as MIDI projects.

Hello,
Sorry about the sudden change of dates.
Something has come up for me and it through
off very much of my scheduling for July.
I am still looking forward to this class taking place.
I would like to work with everyone who has already registered
to come up with dates that work for everyone.
This is what Public School and I came up with:
August - 8, 15, 16 from 4-7pm.
If this works then we will schedule it, if it doesn't work
then we'll look at our other options and I'll run it by
the Public School.
Thanks! And sorry again for the changes.
In the meanwhile, please look into getting set-up
with whatever form of Logic is possible for you.
Logic Pro 8 would be best, but if this isn't going to be possible we
can work with whatever you may be running at the time
since Logic has remained essentially the same.

Yes, the dates just changed because the teacher's schedule has made him unavailable in July. If you will not be able to make the class in August, we will surely refund your payment. Please send specific questions about refunds to dan@thepublicschool.org

We are very sorry for any inconvenience.

hey anyone who is interested in this class,
i have been searching online for a 'trial version' of logic pro 8....
it seems like apple did not release anything like this.
so, then i heard that they had released a trial version for logic 8 express (which is a limited version of logic pro)....
i went looking for that and only found inactive links.
so, it seems there is no trial version either.
supposedly apple had released trial versions for logic 7 but when logic 8 was released the offered trial for 7 was removed and apple didn't create a trail for 8.
with this in mind, this class can only be 'hands-on' if you already own logic or if someone doesn't have logic and wants to have the hands-on experience in the class....they can share a project with someone in class who is set-up with logic...?
any other ideas?

yeah....i am trying to figure out how i am going to teach this as far as people and their computers....
i guess it would be best for everyone who attends to be set-up with logic already. but, naturally, i am sure not everybody will be. there may be a trail version available for download (i will look into this) or maybe, people who aren't set-up can share a project with someone who is set-up for the class...? we'll definitely figure something out.

I'm interested, since eventually I plan on making the transition from PC to Mac, but as of yet I won't have my own Mac/Logic setup to fiddle with during the class...
